Fred and Maisy

Well, as many of you know, it has been a rough year at our house. A miscarriage, health concerns and then major surgery. Like I said, its been a rough 2008. While at home for 9 weeks recuperating from surgery, Fred and Maisy came into my life. One Sunday, November 9, 2008, we went to Petco in West Seneca to look at exotic fish with my niece, Tiffany. On the way out of the store, we stopped at the animal adoption cages. That is when I first saw Maisy. Maisy was an 18 month old Calico (black, white and yellow tabby). I knew I had to have her.

I had been begging Chris for weeks for a yellow/orange tabby. She didn't fit the bill totally, but I wanted her. She was so calm even in the cage. So, Chris gave me the go ahead to call the adoption organization called HEART. I called them on Sunday and left a message. On Monday, they still they still hadn't called me back. Then, at lunch on Monday, Chris comes home with a little present, FRED. Fred was a 7 week old orange tabby.

I, of course, instantly loved him. And, about an hour after Fred came home, I got a call for Maisy from Heart. They asked me if I still wanted to adopt her. Of course, I said yes. So we woke up with no cats and went to sleep with two.

They very quickly became our kids and were no longer cats.
